T&T: Wood in the wrong fire

A SANGRE GRANDE pensioner was sent to jail yesterday for a total of 31 years after he was convicted of multiple acts of incest with one of his daughters.

His wife could not hide her outrage at the jury's decision, interrupting State prosecutor Alexander Prince as he urged Justice Joan Charles to send the 87-year-old man to jail.

When Prince reminded the judge that the elderly man had taken his daughter's virginity when she was only nine-years-old, the woman shouted: "Not at all! No way!".

"My husband never did that. It's a lie ... it hurting me!" she shouted, rising from her seat and breaking down in tears.

"That child is lying," she said of her daughter.

Who could understand these women who try to protect a worthless man rather than their own young, innocent daughters? Unfortunately, this is how it is. Too many women choose the man over the child and, worse, become upholders of these criminals. 'Tis is pity he's too old for the cat. Shucks, they should give him the cat just on general principle. If he could share licks at his age, he should be able to take some.
