T&T: A crook by any other name

Hidden security features on identification cards are to be revealed to several financial institutions, the Immigration Department and TSTT, as the Elections and Boundaries Commission moves to deal with a worsening problem of fake ID cards.

This follows reports by financial institutions, as well as private companies, the Immigration Department and TSTT, about instances of fraud being committed with the use of fraudulent ID cards.

Sunday Guardian also understands that these reports involve the loss of large sums of money through people encashing cheques with false ID cards.
