T&T: Pot-head shot for smoking weed in mall

A WARNING not to "smoke weed" in the hallways of New City Mall on Independence Square and Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, ended in bloodshed yesterday when a security guard shot a man.

Attiba Salandy, 24, of 4C Jackson Place, East Dry River, lay in the corridor near the Charlotte Street entrance of the mall for about 30 minutes while blood flowed from a bullet wound in his upper left thigh. He was later said to be in satisfactory but critical condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

The security guard needs some jail time to cool down his trigger finger.
