Da: Cuban jails can't be that bad, can they?
On his recent trip to Cuba, PM Skerrit saught [sic] presidential pardon for D/can students in prison there. Stating that this was the only way to gain their freedom. However there are still a few administrative issues to tend to before the students are released Source: Q95 FMApparently Skerrit hasn't heard of Gitmo the terrorist lockup from which prime ministers and presidents have been begging for the release of terrorist citizens who, upon release, go out and make jihad again. Now, we know that a Russian mothers are pleading with the U.S. to keep their sons in Gitmo, rather than releasing them to Russia; so, what's so bad about Cuban prisons that Skerrit goes pleading for the students? Surely, prison conditions in Cuba can't be bad; if they were, wouldn't Rickey Singh, Michael Burke, or some other journalist somewhere in the free world be doing an exposé of the brutality and torture that is par for the course in Cuban prisons? Wouldn't they be lambasting Castro and demanding that he cease and desist and condemn the brutal treatment of prisoners in his jails? Yes, they would. So, since they have not, then Cuban jails can't be that bad or bad at all, and Skerrit should not plead the case of young criminals to Castro.
