St. Lca: Le jazz hot!

Now into its 13th year, St. Lucia Jazz opened to a large audience at the Mindoo Phillip Park in a tribute to its main exponent, the late former Chairman of The Tourist Board, Desmond Skeete.

Friday's performances began on a cool and lyrically conscious note with local entertainer, Daddy Twan, followed by cruise ship veterans X-Tent – their high seas experience evident in their range and varied repertoire.

International reggae Phenom Third World's distinct sound played in sharp contrast to the French based rhythmic stylings of Kassav.
