Hti: Argentina sending troops to Haiti...Breaking

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jun. 3 (UPI) -- Argentine lawmakers approved the deployment of some 600 troops to Haiti, local news sources reported Thursday.

Following hours of debate and ardent opposition from some senators, the decision to send 598 soldiers to the embattled Caribbean nation was authorized late Wednesday, La Nacion reported.

The Argentine troops will join the U.N. peacekeeping mission -- led by Brazil -- for at least six months but could remain much longer if needed.

A multi-national force led by the U.S. Marines arrived in Haiti hours after the Feb. 29 departure of then-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who came under increasing pressuring from armed rebel groups and some members of the international community to resign.
Where the heck is CARICOM?

Oh...There they are.
