Ja: Homeward bound

WESTERN BUREAU - Twenty-five of the Haitian boat people who fled their homeland during the bloody uprising against then president Jean-Bertrand Aristide were repatriated yesterday.

The second batch of boat people are expected to leave Jamaica on Thursday, a government source said last night.

The Haitians, accompanied by five government officials and members of various international organisations, departed the Sangster International Airport at about 10:40 am aboard a chartered 37-seat Air Jamaica Express airplane.
