BVI: Students off to the UN

Students from Cedar School will be heading to New York next month to attend the 28th United Nations International School Conference.

The event will be March 4-5 in the United Nations General Assembly Hall, New York.

Cedar School has been invited to attend as representatives of the British Virgin Islands and of the West Indies. The delegation will be made up of four senior students; Chad Lettsome, Jenny Ruffell Smith, Sophie Leroy and Monet Francis, and will be accompanied by a teacher.

This year's conference is titled "Modern Mass Media: The Influence of Information," and will examine matters ranging from propaganda and broadcast ethics to the pervasive influence of the Internet and advertising.
