Cro-Cro creating a ruction again

In his song, "Face Reality," calypsonian Weston Rawlins, known as Cro-Cro, is advocating that corrupt politicians and drug-dealing businessmen be kidnapped, and that bandits kidnap other bandits who don't make amends to the society. Cro-Cro proposes that the ransom money go to fill the national treasury.

The storm caused by "Face Reality" is nothing new to Cro-Cro, whose calypsoes have a reputation for being edgy and politically incorrect. The problem is that Trinidad has been plagued with a rash of kidnappings. Though critics are offended by the calypso, audiences seem to love it.

Cro-Cro, whose lyrics are often anti-establishment and anti-corruption, asserts, "I'm going to sing my song every night until the police lock me up."

Trinidad being Trinidad, home of the University of Woodford Square, Cro-Cro knows he has no fear of that happening any time soon.
