Facing the truth

Israel has put on the web video of the latest homicide bombing that killed 10 in Jerusalem. From the pictures posted, the video promises to be horrific, and it is. Bloody limbs torn apart from their bodies; a woman's leg resting on the bus seat as if she still has the possibility of arising; a leg and buttock tossed on the roadside barefooted; a hand with the bloody remnants of the garment still attached. The horror and the pity of it is almost too much to bear.

Why must the Israeli Foreign Ministry offend our sensibilities with such gruesome and bloody sights? They do it because that is the only way the moral equivocators at the U.N. and its International Court of "Justice" in the Hague can be brought to their senses. Foreign Ministry official Gordon Meir said, "The decision [to post the film] was based on the fact that Israel is being taken to the International Court of Justice while Palestinians are perpetrating this barbaric terrorism."

What excuse is there that can be made to justify such evil? And evil it indeed is. There can be none. If this kind of evil can be done to Israel, it can be done to us, and and it has been. Even today, while we waited for Super Bowl to begin flights were grounded because of potential terrorist threats.

We are not so far from Israel after all.
