Ja: They grow them just fine in Jamaica. Yah, mon!
Kudos to Sonia Bent and Beverley Goodhall.
Jamaican-born nurses, Sonia Bent (centre) and Beverley Goodhall, accept the humanitarian award for dedicated service and quality patient care at the Beth Israel Medical Centre in New Jersey, in 2002. Both women received a number of awards from the New York Police Department for their care of Det Jerry Beyrodt, who was injured in the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11, 2001....
WHEN Nurse Sonia Bent was honoured by the New York health department for her 'superior' treatment of a police officer who was injured during the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, no one was more surprised than she.
Not because she did not deserve the honour, but the hard-working and dedicated nurse sees offering quality care as just part of the job. "I just love what I do and I couldn't imagine doing anything else," the Jamaican-born nurse told JIS News.
