St. Maart: In parliament they're kicksin'
This is a serious threat to democracy. Is St. Maarten on the road to mongoose gang politics?
WILLEMSTAD--The majority of the Antillean Parliament on Saturday rejected a motion proposed by the opposition party PAR to establish that it's not correct for members, who after all have sworn not to have been or become corrupt, to remain in Parliament after they have been convicted of such.
The motion was defeated by a vote of 11 to 7. The meeting was for the greater part a recurrence of the day before in Curacao's Island Council.
