St. Lca: Friendly faces going places

When one speaks of St Lucians working in the hotel industry, the first occupations that come to mind are waiter, waitress or barman—but how about an accountant?

Yes, that’s where it’s at for 20-year-old Ella Charles who now serves as a receivables coordinator at St James Club Morgan Bay. A graduate of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College Division of Business Studies, Ella impressed the management at the then Wyndham Morgan Bay Resort during a month-long internship in 2001. At the end of her apprenticeship, Ella was offered a job at the resort and she gladly accepted.
