De way tings shapin' up dem look like dey tryin' to to make de US Immigration people look like Mother Theresa an' she nuns by comparison!
For those who don't speak Trini or Caribbean, let me offer a near verbatim translation
You know this nonsense with T&T and Barbados has gone too far when Trinis booed the Bajans who were performing at a fete. Curiously enough, things will come to blows soon, and not here in T&T but in Barbados where, last Saturday, Customs stopped a Bajan citizen who returned home on a BWIA flight after shopping in T&T for clothes and other items to sell. Well, I guess she shouldn't have done that because the Customs officers inspected every item in her luggage and seized everything that was manufactured or bought in T&T. Customs officers made the woman cry because, in their heartlessness, their next act was to dump everything in the garbage bins. Now, I don't see how Customs feel that they are solving anything with that attitude. What will they do with a Trini? The way things are looking, it seems Barbados Customs are making the US Immigration authorities look like Mother Theresa and her nuns by comparison!
The sheer pettiness of Barbados' customs officials is astonishing. Who wants to bet that one of them "rescued" the items from the garbage bin and took them home? Petty, really petty.
Anyway, keep an eye out for Trinidiary. It's wild, fun, and seriously informative.
