USVI: Next time give the kids a composition to write

This story falls under the heading of stupid principal tricks.
More than a dozen students at E. Benjamin Oliver Elementary School were pulled out of class Thursday for wearing the wrong colors of clothing.

About 15 students who arrived at the school attired in anything other than their uniforms or, alternately, red-and-white outfits - permitted because of the upcoming Valentine's Day weekend - were sent to the office to wait for their parents to bring a change of clothes.

Kids were pulled out of class for wearing jeans and, in at least one case, clothing that was striped with red and another color.

Principal Felix Durand called the crackdown a lesson in "the whole concept of following directions."
