T&T: Deal with Haiti constitutionally

PRIME MINISTER Patrick Manning said yesterday Caricom would not support any unconstitutional measure to overthrow or support the Jean-Bertrand Aristide government in Haiti.
...
Manning was asked specifically if Caricom saw the removal of Aristide as an option. This question was posed in the wake of continued widespread demonstrations and the deaths of some 46 Haitians this week as rebels moved to capture certain towns. The New York Times also reported yesterday the United States may be "angling" to remove Aristide.

Manning responded: "Caricom has made it absolutely clear that our business is not to interfere in the internal affairs of Haiti, in that way."
