Ja: Buju Banton on trial for ganja possession and cultivation

How do they expect Buju to compose his music without a spliff? Sounds like Buju might have personal issues with the arresting officer. See here also.

Detective Corporal Phillip Dodd testified that on December 3, at about 7:30 pm., he was a member of a police party led by commanding officer of the St. Andrew North Division, Superintendent Assan Thompson, on special operations on Carlisle Avenue.

Dodd said while driving the lead vehicle of the convoy he saw one of a group of men standing at the studio gate, run into the premises. This grabbed his attention and he alerted other members of the party. They went after the man.

Cpl. Dodd said the police identified themselves on entering the premises. He said Myrie approached and asked why they were on his property. Supt. Thompson answered Myrie and instructed the team to search the premises. Dodd said Myrie accompanied him and another policeman to the rear of the premises where a large well tended garden was seen. Three plants resembling marijuana were seen and he uprooted them and showed them to Myrie.

Dodd said he cautioned Myrie who allegedly responded, "Yeah man, go lock me up a station fi di likkle weed. Ah dat give me inspiration fi write my music and enhance my meditation."

Dodd said he took Myrie and the plants to the Constant Spring Police Station and charged him.
