VI: Coral reef research start-up

"The territory has hit the jackpot with a $4.5 million federal grant to use as 'seed money' for an ambitious series of research projects focused on Caribbean coral reefs.

"The research, which will be conducted by scientists at the University of the Virgin Islands, is expected to help the territory maintain the viability of its coral reefs, some of the most popular tourist attractions pumping money into the local economy."
