Hti: I'll do what the people want me to do

Guy Philippe, military commander of the rebel forces, says pressure is being placed on him. However, he did not reveal the source of the pressure. Says Philippe, if necessary, "I'll die but my ideas won't." He did indicate that the pressure is not coming from the people whose will he is ready to do.

Philippe also reiterated his disinterest in politics, stating, "politics does not interest me. The president is the lawful president, and we will follow his orders."

The U.S. has called for the rebels to disarm.
