Atg: More T&T dollars down a hole

LIAT has survived to fly another day, maybe another couple of months.

The Trinidad & Tobago government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Patrick Manning, has come through on a promise to lend three Caricom states, with heavy investment in LIAT EC$17 million specifically for on-lending to keep LIAT in the air until July.

Making the announcement in Port-of-Spain Tuesday was Trade Minister Ken Valley, who has responsibility for BWIA and by extension LIAT, since BWIA owns some 29 per cent of the Antigua-based airline's shareholding.
