T&T: Who ain' dead, badly wounded

This badly shattered car is a typical example of the end result of vehicular accidents in T&T. Fellers drive so hard that when they crash they usually die on the spot and take people along with them.

Passers-by look at a wrecked vehicle which was involved in an accident in 2002, on the Brian Lara Promenade, Port-of-Spain, yesterday. The wreck formed part of an exhibition put on by Police Traffic Branch to mark World Health Day. This year’s theme is “Road safety is no Accident.”

Though the Police Traffic Branch is exhibiting this wreck, it is doubtful whether the hard driving and hard drinking young will attend to its praemonitory message. After all, when you're young, you're invincible. Nothing can kill you, except....
