TT: Panday gone through

Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday has again accused the PNM of contributing to the crime wave.

Panday made the comment moments after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs admitted some of its employees had been arrested trying to transport drugs abroad in a diplomatic pouch.

Speaking during a People’s Forum meeting at the St Julien Presbyterian Primary School on Monday night, Panday said there was now solid evidence to show a link between the Government and members of the terrorist and underworld organisations.

“There exists a nexus between the PNM political apparatus and certain elements in the Police Service,” Panday said.

“The frightening thing is that this nexus extends to terrorists elements and persons operating in the criminal underworld.”

He added: “They found drugs in the diplomatic pouch that was going from Port-of-Spain to New York.

“The diplomatic pouch is where the Government sends things to the embassy in New York, and it goes directly from the Government, and it goes directly to the airplane, from the airplane it goes directly to the embassy.

“They found drugs inside of that bag.”
By this logic, any crime committed by anybody attached to the PNM or to the government is proof that the party and the government are involved.

Doctor's recommendation: formulate two syllogisms and call me in the morning.
