St. Kts: Bulk oil buy

With the recent price hike of crude oil on the world market, St. Kitts/Nevis, and its counterparts of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) are set to implement a plan in order to save money.

According to a BBC Caribbean report, the nine OECS countries are to explore making joint oil purchases, as the recent increases in world prices have raised concerns that OECS economies could be further destabilised.

The report added that the Eastern Caribbean heads of government agreed to set up a Task Force on Energy Policy to advise on effective energy conservation management, alternative energy sources and reform of the energy sector.
