U.S.: Slow posting

I'll be posting between gaps cuz I'm building a dynamic website -- for PAY no less! Yup. In my field, teaching, January till September is slow time for hiring. So, in between job hunting, I've been learning PHP, MySQL, CSS, and re-acquainting myself with Dreamweaver. Now, I'm on my first project and building the front end.

Let this be the start of my own dynamic website business, please God.

So, I'll be posting in between the breaks.

Then, I'm gone to South Dakota from early Friday morning (Thursday night if I stay at the house of the friend with whom I'm going) until Monday. If you've never been there, SD is absolutely wonderful. Lots of wide open spaces, cows (last year I went on my first cattle drive, on horseback, too!), and a sky full of stars at night. Beautiful.

Last year, when I was in SD, I went to Rosebud Reservation. There, for the first time, I met some Lakota Sioux. For me, it was similar to the first time I saw the Mississippi -- how could I not reach down and touch the mud of the river? Of course, I had to. When you come to a river that you thought you'd never see, that you know from Geography lessons, from reading Mark Twain and other novelists, not only do you stand and stare in awe, but you must also touch. That's what I did. I reached down and touched the mud of the Mississippi and felt history sing through my veins.

That's how I felt when I saw the Lakota Sioux in South Dakota last year. The first thought that popped into my head? Their skin IS red! For the most part, they looked to me like Asians with red skin. I've got pictures somewhere. Maybe I'll post them to the site when I come back.

Thanks, man.

I hate this comment system on Blogger. Seriously.
