Greneda - Water, Water Everywhere…


Caribbean people want to make sure that good fresh water available for the future. Water is a finite resources over which people have gone to war. Industrialization has ruined potable water supplies all over the world.

Well into the 20th century, lakes and rivers of the Soviet Union degraded because of the push of rapid industrialization. Several hugh inland lakes are so polluted that they can't support life. River systens all over the world are choked with human waste and pollutants making them difficult to clean. Grenada officials are aware of this problem, citing Korea as object lesson.

Flowing standpipes have long been used to supply water to many people in the Caribbean. This wasteful pactice no longer continue, and governments are helping poor people get water piped into their homes. Other conservation measures in home and agricultural use are recommended.
