So Libya wants to host the 2010 World Cup

Libya is fast following up on its efforts to rejoin the world community. Here's hoping that the U.S. and U.K. are keeping a sharp eye on Gaddafi and cohorts. Once a terrorist, always a terrorist. We've got a saying in Trinidad about "playing dead to catch corbeaux (vultures) alive"; this might be a case of that.

According to Friday 30th Jan, 2004, Trinidad Express:

"Trinidad and Tobago's senior footballers are scheduled to tackle Libya's national team in late April in a match which will precede another international for coach Bertille St Clair's men.
...
The Libya encounter stemmed from a meeting between FIFA vice-president and Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) special adviser Jack Warner and Libyan head of state Muammar Gaddafi.

Warner was invited by Gaddafi to Libya to get a better insight to the country's capabilities of hosting a World Cup as they bid for the 2010 World Cup.

According to Warner, during their meetings, he requested a game to assist in T&T's 2006 "Journey to Germany" World Cup preparations and the Libyan FA, of which Gadaffi's son Al Saadi is a vice-president, agreed to host the Soca Warriors, reports T&TFF media officer Shaun Fuentes."
