St. Lca: Judicial misconduct

The question is whose? Is it the magistrate who has been summarily dismissed while cases pile up in Castries and Gros Islet courts, or is it the Public Service Commission's and the Judicial and Legal Services Commission's, which allegedly fired Magistrate Horace Frazer without granting him the right to defend himself?

Three weeks ago this newspaper reported that Magistrate Horace Frazer’s services had been terminated, allegedly for acts of misconduct.

Frazer, who presided over the Castries and Gros Islet courts, confirmed in an interview that he’d received a letter signed by the Public Service Commission’s Wilbert King informing him of his January 19 dismissal.

The magistrate said he had no knowledge of what the acts of misconduct referred to in the letter were, neither had he attended any hearing related to the matter.
