A grandfather is accused of attempting to bugger his seven-year-old granddaughter.

The mature man is also facing charges of indecent assault and serious indecency on the child.

The child gave sworn evidence in the St. John's High Court yesterday, after the judge was satisfied that she could distinguish between telling the truth and telling lies.
