It’s appalling. Seventy-seven per cent of the doctors surveyed said that workers expected to be granted sick leave when they visited their offices, while 50 per cent indicated they were indirectly pressured into granting workers sick leave.

How could a worker force a big man or woman, in this case a trained and licensed doctor, to grant sick leave?

Isn’t sick leave granted if the doctor, in his or her professional opinion, believes that the patient is not well enough to work?
