Bdos: What's said in the jury room stays in the jury room

What is discussed behind closed doors by juries must remain secret.

Chief Justice Sir David Simmons said yesterday he would not allow the jury system to be opened up to destructive elements like jurors coming after the fact to say they did not agree with a verdict given in their presence and hearing.

A rare application for leave to reopen a jury verdict, which would mean hearing what transpired among apparently dissenting jurors in a murder trial, was turned down yesterday by the Court of Appeal.
