T&T: Cuban doctors for Tobago

Tobago will get eight Cuban doctors by the end of next month to boost healthcare services in the island, the Tobago News has been reliably informed.

The doctors were recruited on a recent visit to Cuba by a team from the Health Ministry headed by Permanent Secretary Hamid O'Brien.

Health and Social Services Secretary Cynthia Alfred told the post Executive Council press conference last week Thursday that the Assembly had requested 13 doctors to work in the health services in the island.

The Tobago News was also told that the remaining five doctors would be recruited from among the United Nations volunteers and would be here within two months.
