TT: Surgeons remove Noel's facial boils

His hair cut and a broad smile etched on his face, Noel Lochan, who has been suffering from egg-sized boils about his body, said he was satisfied with his new look.

Sitting up in his hospital bed, ready for lunch, yesterday, Lochan said: "Since the boils were cut from my face I am feeling much better. I had pain on my face for a few days after they were cut, but then it went away. I am feeling good now. I cannot wait until the other boils are removed and my body is normal once again."

Two weeks ago, three boils were removed from 18-year-old Lochan's face. When the Express visited him two days after the operation, Lochan was writhing in pain and his face was wrapped in bandages. Surgeons did not attempt to remove the boils from Lochan's left upper thigh and stomach due to the risk of severe haemorrhaging. The boils removed from Lochan's face almost covered his eyes, nose and left cheek.
