U.S.: Comments

For an arrogant so-and-so, I can be remarkably tolerant ... sometimes. Since I've yet to discover where, in Blogger's new comment feature, I can attach a comment policy, said policy will be laid out here.

CaribPundit is the blogosphere's Caribbean house, and the bloggers are the householders who happily receive guests to their home. Just as householders extend guests certain courtesies when they visit, we extend you the courtesy of partaking in our discussion by responding to news items and our critiques with your comments.

In turn, we expect that visitors to the house, CaribPundit, will be courteous. While agreement with the bloggers' point of view is not a required or expected (we prefer vigorous debate and discussion), there must be correlation between the post and the comment. No holds barred reasoned debate yes; ad hominem and invective, no. Posts that don't meet these criteria will be deleted.

When you comment, remember that you are a guest in our house. If you can't heed these simple rules, then, as my grandfather used to say, take the door the carpenter made. To which I add, don't let it hit you on the arse on your way out.
