U.S.: MySQL problem solved

Well, instead of blogging into the early hours of the morning -- what the heck am I doing now? -- I spent a few hours on iChat with someone who talked me through the MySQL problem I've been bouncing my head on for the past three weeks.

Now, I can make some serious progress with both MySQL and PHP, and, as a result, some changes should be coming to the blog. If anybody wants to make me a job offer I can't refuse, I'm all ears.

For those of you who are getting that overlap of the central column and the right margin, please expand your browser window. That Maxwell Smart trick should serve to keep us all sane until the problem is solved via PHP. If it can be, that is.
