Atg: Condolences on the passing of a great American

Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda Baldwin Spencer has sent a message of condolence to US President George W. Bush, on the passing of the 40th US President Ronald Reagan. The message reads:

"On behalf of the government and people of Antigua & Barbuda and on my own behalf, I extend heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the United States of America on the passing of Former President Ronald Reagan.

"He will be remembered within the Caribbean region for his support of the return of democracy to the island of Grenada. His decisions were widely viewed as signalling the end of socialist movements within the region.

"I also extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Nancy, a tower of strength, as well as the other members of his family, at this time of sadness. With the rest of the world, Antigua & Barbuda mourns the passing of a great American. At the same time, we celebrate a life that brought enduring benefits to the peoples of the world.
