TT: Swoof! swoof! swoof! $1,200 for one joint

John O'Neil was ordered to pay the fine forthwith by Senior Magistrate Annette McKenzie in the Scarborough First Court, failing which he would have to serve 35 days in jail with hard labour.

"I'm very sorry and I'll try not to let it happen again," O'Neil told the court, when asked for an explanation by the Magistrate.

He was charged by Special Reserve Police Constable O'Brien, who is based at Black Rock.

The court heard that Constable O'Brien was dressed in uniform and on duty along Grafton Road at Grafton in the Black Rock area around 10.30 a.m last Sunday, when he was attracted by the smell coming from a vehicle in which O'Neil was an occupant.
I hope he built a head big enough off of that spliff to not mind that $1,200 fine. Makes me wonder if the joint was laced with gold.

This guy needs his head examined. After being fined $1,200 for a spliff, he'll only try not to let it happen again?
