Bdos: Tek yuh han' out we pocket!

BARBADIANS will not have to pay another cent for domestic telephone service, at least for now.

In addition, metered telephone service will not be a reality here any time soon.

The decision was handed down yesterday by the Fair Trading Commission (FTC), as it denied Cable & Wireless (C&W) Barbados Limited’s application for rate adjustment. Up to late yesterday it was unclear whether C&W would be re-applying to the FTC, as is the company’s right.

The shouts of joy from intervenors present at the Manor Lodge Complex for the FTC’s announcement contrasted sharply with the expressions on the faces of officials from the telecommunication company’s management and legal teams.
Just so!
