DR: Gratitude without a wink and a nod

The U.S. may be grateful to the Dominican Republic for sending 300 of its troops to join the unilateral U.S. liberation of Iraq, but that doesn't mean that the U.S. will go along with electoral irregularities in the DR; see here, and here also. The U.S. is keeping an eye on Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Haiti and Venezuela, because of their "illegal and illegitimate electoral practices."

This is another mark of President George W. Bush's commitment to the march of democracy around the globe.
