T&T: Uncle Sam's giving Trinis a rough time
I wonder if Saudi citizens are being treated this harshly? Somehow, given that Maura Harty of the State Department is pushing to slacken visa rules for Saudi citizens -- in spite of 3,000 U.S. citizens dead on U.S. soil at the hands of 19 murderes, 15 of whom were Saudis -- I would say not. Yet, T&T citizens are being handled as though they are criminals when attempting to enter American ports after having been through the legal visa process. How many American citizens have Trinis killed? None. How many American citizens have Saudi Arabians killed? 3,000. And we've not yet counted the bombings of Khobar Towers, the Cole, the embassy in Kenya, and various losses in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. There is an old proverb that says keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but this is ridiculous.
THE American visas of the three Trinidadian women deported from the US yesterday have been cancelled by immigration authorities in New York.
Immigration reports given to the women stated that the visas were cancelled on the grounds that they were entering the US to work and they were not in possession of valid unexpired immigrant visas.
They were all ruled as inadmissible aliens and authorities said that their immigration forms which are filled out on arrival were insubmissible.
