Paul Fritz of London was slapped with three charges: importation of 12 lbs 12 ozs of cocaine; possession with intent to transfer; and attempting to export the drug.
Yesterday in the St. John's Magistrate's Court Fritz pleaded guilty, before Senior Magistrate Asquith Riviere, to possession of the drug and attempting to export it.
Having heard the case, Magistrate Riviere fined and confined the defendant.
He sentenced Fritz to three years in prison with hard labour on the charge of possession and five years hard labour on the charge of attempting to export cocaine.
