Atg: Merit scholarships available

The American Women"s' Club of Antigua & Barbuda has announced that this year's scholarship is open to all Women of Antiguan nationality in pursuit of academic degrees or coursework in the fields of medicine, education, political science and economic development.

Recipients of this award are expected to return to Antigua upon completion of their studies and apply their education towards the betterment of the nation.

Awards are based on both merit and need. Applicants must begin their academic programmes in 2004. Applicants must not have received more than one prior AWC scholarship.

Each applicant must be available for an in-person interview.

No applications will be considered if incomplete or received after the closure date of 31 May.

To be complete, an application must include a completed application form, two academic letters of reference, a typewritten essay (no longer than one page) and all official academic transcripts for the last two years.

Applications are available and may be obtained at the The Goldsmitty on Redcliffe Street or by calling Diane Camacho at 461-1335 after 27 April.
