St. Maart: Puerto Rican earthquake shakes St. Maarten

A slight earth tremor was felt in St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius at 12:23pm yesterday.

The tremor was tagged to a moderate earthquake which occurred 444 km or 276 miles East-Southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the US Geological Survey Earthquake Hazards Programme Website.

The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale at a hypo-central depth of 51.5 kilometres or 32.0 miles.
