Cuba: Castro goonsquads seek regional lemmings to oppose invisible U.S. aggression

PORT OF SPAIN, May 20 (IPS) - Cuba has mounted a diplomatic initiative throughout the Caribbean seeking support from its English-speaking neighbours against a possible military attack by the United States.

Havana's point men in Jamaica, St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago have all said recently that while Cuba is preparing for a possible military attack from the administration of U.S. President George W Bush, it wants its Caribbean Community (CARICOM) neighbours to speak out on the issue.

In addition, officials from the Havana-based Cuban Institute of Friendship With the People have also been visiting the region, accusing Washington of doing the bidding of expatriate Cubans who are seeking the removal from office of Cuban President Fidel Castro.

”We have to take into account that this is an electoral period in the United States and that Bush is running for the presidency again. In the last election he was appointed president because of the support of the Cubans in Miami and this time he wants the recognition of the Cuban-Americans living there,” Gizelle Diaz, a member of the Institute told a news conference in Trinidad on Monday.

”That's why he has to (act in) the interest of the Cuban-Americans in Miami ... and try to make the situation in Cuba look harder and more difficult, in order to take away the revolution and exterminate the achievements that we have had,” she told reporters.

I guess they're trying to set up the conditions by which Castro can live out the rest of his 140yrs in power...

This is a two-step Castro and that other nucking futter Chavez are engaged in. If the English speaking Caribbean are so anti-American and so lost to sense that they will help choreograph the dance for these nucks, well, they're dumber than a box of rocks. Castro is playing Caricom. Caricom might not mind being played.
