Mexico - First-Lady Problems


Things aren't going well for Vicente Fox. His wife, Marta Sahagun, and his chief-of-staff, Alfonso Durazo, were at odds, causing Durazo to resign.
"Since it beame obvious that the first lady is running the country, I guess his (Fox's) chief of staff decided he was no longer needed…"

Is Mexico falling back to the policies of the "bad old days" of the PRI, the party that controlled Mexico's presidentcy from 1929 until Fox's election? In the PRI, presidents gave a nod to their successors who were then dutifully voted in by the electorate. Fox had promised to change that policy. Hmm. We'll see.
