T&T: Natural gas and the rise of T&T's stature in Washington

S Congressman Jerry Weller met with Prime Minister Patrick Manning on Monday to discuss the security of T&T’s energy supplies to the US and other national security issues.

Speaking to reporters at the formal launch of the newest Laughing Buddha restaurant in Port-of-Spain, Manning confirmed the meeting but said the details would be contained in a news release.

“We didn’t discuss any specific issue of that nature. We spoke generally. It was a scheduled visit,” Manning said.

“In fact, as he (Welller) put it, he had been hearing more about T&T.

“Our profile in Washington and our statute have been increasing and he wanted to see what T&T was like.”

Maybe Congressman Weller ought to get on the horn to DHS so they can lighten up on visitors from T&T. We're party animals, not killers. We're not from Saudi. PM Manning needs to stop being such a nice guy and stand up to Washington for his countrymen. Heck, if the Saudis who killed 3,000 Americans on U.S. soil still want to play bad for the Bush Administration, then Manning ought to, also. He's got to remember all those Italian westerns he watched growing up in San Fernando and be as big a cowboy as the cowboy in the White House. After all, T&T's got what the Bush Administration needs. Clean energy without the terrorist gobar.
