Bag of Money found: Dominican National arrested

According to the Police Prosecution Department, 43-year-old Dominican, Roy Massicote of Kingston appeared in court on Wednesday before Magistrate Gail Charles, charged with the following offences:  (1) Illegal Entry into the Territory (2) Fail to Report to Customs as the master of a vessel  (3) Smuggling  (4)  Fail to make declaration and  (5)  Fail to land when ordered by a Customs Officer.

Massicote was arrested on May 18th 2004 at 6:00 a.m., after he led the Customs Task Force Officers on a sea chase from West End to Kingston.  Reportedly, he then ran his boat aground on a beach at Kingston and fled the scene. 

Police later searched the area and discovered a bag containing $10,285.00. This case was adjourned to July 14th 2004 for the trial....
