Gya: Reeaz Khan, 36, to face more charges over 13-year-old girl

MORE private criminal charges are to be laid against Reeaz Khan, the city businessman involved in the controversial sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Mr Nigel Hughes, the lawyer representing the teen's mother, Bibi Shameeza Hamid, made the disclosure to Senior Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, at Wales Court, West Bank Demerara, yesterday when the first abduction charge filed was called again.

Hughes said another accusation alleging a similar offence and related others would be slapped on Khan next July 16.
...
Khan, 36, of Lot 51 Eccles, East Bank Demerara and proprietor of Reeaz Trading Enterprise, at Lot 37 Camp Street, Georgetown, previously pleaded not guilty, on June 10, to unlawfully taking the unmarried teen under the age of 16 against her will and out of the possession of her mother, without the consent of the parent on May 21.

He was ordered to post $100,000 cash bail on that charge.

Hughes, speaking about one of the additional charges, alleged that the defendant abducted the girl twice.
