Ja: 400 not out and it ends in a draw
THE WEST Indies bid for a winning finish to the 2004 Cable & Wireless Series ended in disappointment at the Antigua Recreation Ground yesterday when, as expected, the fourth and final Test match ended in a draw.
Going into the fifth and final day of the Test match needing to take all 10 of England's second innings wickets in order to win the match, the West Indies, down 3-0 at the start of the match, were denied a consolation victory as England, led by captain Michael Vaughan, who ticked off his 11th Test century during an attractive innings of 140, Mark Butcher with 61, and former captain Nasser Hussain with 56, batted through the day for the loss of only five wickets.
Final score: West Indies 751 for five declared, England 285 and 422 for five.
