PR: Superaqueduct extortion scandal

SAN JUAN (AP) – Justice Secretary Anabelle Rodriguez refused to comment about allegation that her office would be pursuing a separate investigation of extortion of contractors working on the Superaqueduct project by former high-ranking New Progressive Party (NPP) officials.

To avoid going into details regarding the matter, the secretary took refuge in the policy of not discussing ongoing investigations.

Nevertheless, she said that her office could not interfere in a federal investigation.
