St. Kts: One man one vote leads to jail

The leader of the People's Action Movement (PAM) Lindsay Grant and his deputy Shawn Richards were arrested yesterday for obstructing a police officer from carrying out his duties.
...
Following their discharge from the police station, Richards explained to the SUN the circumstances surrounding their arrest.

"Basically, we had a peaceful demonstration down Church Street asking for voters' ID. The police came and asked us to move; we told them we were demonstrating and we were arrested.

"We have been charged with obstructing police officers and we have been bailed. We were in police custody for approximately two hours. This arrest was not justified. We were demonstrating for a cause of the people," Richards said.

"We are saying, one man, one vote and that's all we were demonstrating for. We had no placards, all we had was a copy of the duplicate names on the list."

Richards explained that they were walking down the road to government headquarters, saying absolutely nothing.
Which duties were the police obstructed from carrying out?

So, Kittsians don't have freedom of assembly?
